A few kilometers from the Sanse Castle, many villages are worth visiting. We suggest you take a tour through some of them like Castelmoron d’Albret, Sainte-Foy-la-Grande, Sauveterre-de-Guyenne and Monségur.

Castelmoron d’Albret is known for being the smallest village in France in terms of surface area; Sainte-Foy-la-Grande will surprise you with its bastide, the oldest in Gironde; Sauveterre-de-Guyenne will charm you with its four doors, vestiges of its tumultuous past; and finally, in Monségur, you will discover its market halls, its ramparts and its arcaded square. 

Perfumes, Colors & Delicacy The steps

All the villages around Sanse Castle offer markets. The culinary specialties of the region will be found on the colorful and fragrant market gardeners' stalls. You will find asparagus from Blayais, porcini mushrooms, prawns from Médoc, honey from Gironde, macaroons from Saint-Emilion and many others. 

A leap in history Castles to discover

Near our 3-star castle hotel with swimming pool near Saint-Emilion, many castles proudly represent the past of Gironde. You will enjoy visiting them or attending a wine tasting in their enclosures. We advise you to go through the Château Duras, the Tour de Montaigne, the Château de Rauzan, Château de Monbazillac and Château de Bridoire.  

Bordeaux, Bergerac and Libourne Cities to explore

towns full of character and places to discover are close to our castle-hotel in the heart of Gironde. We advise you to take a trip to Bordeaux to discover its Place de la Bourse and its water mirror , by Bergerac with its statue of Cyrano and its Tobacco Museum, but also by Libourne with its Château de Vayres, overlooking the Dordogne.
